About this Song
The creator behind Habambuhay works within the expansive, ever-evolving category of R&B, crafting their sound from a base in the Philippines, where generations of creators have taken the core foundational framework of R&B and expanded it to reflect the specific cultural, social, and communal contexts that shape creative practice across the archipelago. R&B as a genre has never been a static, monolithic form, and its spread across every corner of the globe has led to countless regional iterations that retain the genre's core commitments to emotional resonance, sonic craft, and connection with audiences, while weaving in the unique cultural signatures that make each regional scene distinct.
