Basted
About this Song
For decades, pop created by creators based in the Philippines has carved out a distinct, far-reaching space in global popular music, rooted in decades of cross-cultural exchange that draws from both local creative traditions and the global evolution of pop as a format that adapts to every community it touches. Basted, a pop sound hailing from the Philippines, sits firmly within this rich lineage, joining a growing catalogue of works from Filipino creators that redefine what pop can be, while honoring the throughlines that make Philippine pop recognizable to audiences both within the archipelago and across the global Filipino diaspora that stretches across every inhabited continent.
