About this Song
UDD, formerly performing under the name Up Dharma Down, builds Luna, a pop sound hailing from the Philippines, on the foundation of a career that has redefined what a Filipino band can achieve both at home and on the global stage. The electronic trio of Paul Yap, Carlos Tañada, and Ean Mayor has spent years honing a sound that balances broad, accessible pop appeal with experimental electronic flourishes, a blend that caught the attention of BBC Radio’s Mark Coles, who named UDD the Manila band most likely to cross over to the lucrative Anglophone market of North America. That forecast has borne out in the years since, with the band racking up over 300 million streams on Spotify to date, a milestone that reflects the enduring resonance of their work with listeners across borders and cultural backgrounds.
