About this Song
Manila’s independent pop circuit has nurtured one of the Philippines’ most internationally recognized acts, the electronic trio UDD, formerly known as Up Dharma Down. Composed of Paul Yap, Carlos Tañada, and Ean Mayor, the group has built a career that bridges local Filipino pop sensibilities with global electronic traditions, earning acclaim that has taken them far beyond their home country’s borders. Early in their trajectory, BBC Radio’s Mark Coles dubbed them the Manila band most likely to cross over to the lucrative Anglophone market of North America, a prediction that has aligned with the group’s steady cultural and commercial growth, reflected in the more than 300 million streams they have racked up on Spotify to date.
