About this Song
The Philippines has long nurtured a vibrant pop landscape that centers local storytelling, turning homegrown artists into household names whose work resonates across generations and across the global Filipino diaspora. Within that space, Original Pilipino Music, or OPM, has grown from a beloved regional movement to a globally streamed cultural force, with creators who redefine what mainstream success looks like for local artists, turning their lived experiences into work that connects with audiences far beyond the archipelago’s borders. One such artist who has redefined those boundaries, shaping the modern sound of Filipino pop for listeners at home and abroad, is TJ Monterde, whose career sits at the rare intersection of widespread critical acclaim and unrivaled mass mainstream appeal.
