About this Song
Flares is a pop sound originating from the Philippines. It sits within the broad, globally resonant framework of popular music that connects creative communities across borders, while anchoring itself to the vibrant landscape of mainstream music-making in its home country. Another pop act that has built an enormous, loyal global fanbase through its own distinct take on the genre is The Script. The band’s gift for writing songs rich with heady emotions and ever bigger melodies has enamoured fans all over the world. This widespread connection to audiences led to a catalogue of global hits such as ‘Hall of Fame’, ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’, ‘Superheroes’ and ‘Breakeven’. The band faced an unfathomable loss in 2023, when founder member Mark Sheehan passed away tragically. In the wake of that grief, his bandmates Danny O’Donoghue and Glen Power made a clear vow to honor their friend and their shared work.
