Olivia Rodrigo's "The Cure," an alternative rock, indie rock, and pop track from the Philippines, was released as the second single from her third studio album, *You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love*, on May 22, 2026. Rodrigo, an American singer-songwriter and actress born in Murrieta, California, on February 20, 2003, co-wrote the song with producer Dan Nigro. Nigro has produced all of Rodrigo's studio albums and co-written nearly every track, including "The Cure." Lyrically, the song explores themes of doubt, mistrust, emotional isolation, and the notion that love cannot resolve personal insecurities. Rodrigo has described "The Cure" as her favorite song on the album and one of her favorite songs she has ever made, calling it the album's "thesis statement" and "climax." Rodrigo began her career as a child actress, appearing in commercials and the 2015 film *An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success*.
