About this Song
The Philippines’ long and intertwined history with rock & roll stretches across decades of creative exchange, community gathering, and artistic evolution, turning a genre that first traveled to the archipelago through global cultural currents into a core part of the country’s own creative identity. For generations, rock & roll has served as more than a style of sound in the Philippines; it has been a space for connection, for reimagining global artistic forms through the lens of local experience, and for carrying forward the same spirit of unbridled creativity that defines the genre’s global legacy, while infusing every iteration of Philippine rock & roll with a specific, rooted sense of place that makes each recording feel both tied to a sprawling international lineage and deeply, unmistakeably its own.
