About this Song
Creators working in the rock & roll space across the Philippines build their work on a shared foundation of creative practice that stretches back generations, with each new artist contributing their own intentional choices to the ongoing evolution of the genre within the archipelago’s rich cultural landscape. Every decision that goes into crafting a recorded rock & roll sound from the Philippines is shaped by both the formal traditions that define rock & roll as a global genre and the specific contexts that inform how those traditions are adapted, reworked, and reimagined by artists based in the country, who carry forward a commitment to crafting work that feels both faithful to the genre’s roots and reflective of their own creative priorities.
