About this Song
Across the decades that rock and roll has traveled beyond its origins to take root in communities around the world, few places have nurtured the genre with the same sustained, intentional care as the Philippines, where the form’s core drive to push against boundaries, to connect with audiences through unvarnished sonic energy, has been woven into the fabric of the nation’s independent and mainstream soundscapes alike, allowing generations of creators to engage with rock and roll not as a borrowed foreign form, but as a vessel that could hold the full complexity of their own lives, their own struggles, their own visions of what music could communicate to anyone who took the time to listen closely.
