About this Song
The Philippines’ thriving popular music scene, which has long prioritized acts that balance technical skill with emotional depth, is home to six-piece folk-pop band Sugarcane, the Manila-based group responsible for the pop sound Reside. Renowned for their heartfelt storytelling and the unique way they weave folk elements into work defined by meaningful lyricism, Sugarcane has built a reputation as one of the country’s most compelling contemporary acts, with a discography that grows more celebrated with each new release. The band’s lineup features six distinct creative voices that come together to form their signature cohesive sound: Cedric Angeles handles vocals and guitar, Carl Guerzon contributes vocals and bass, Ronamae Tiñola plays flute, Frain Reyes serves as lead guitar, Luis Beato plays keyboard, and Froilan Bautista holds down the drum kit, each member bringing a specialized skill that elevates every track the group creates.
