About this Song
The six-piece Manila-based folk-pop outfit Sugarcane built their national and regional reputation on a foundation of heartfelt storytelling and a one-of-a-kind blend of folk elements and meaningful lyricism, a signature that turns every one of their releases into a moment that resonates deeply with listeners across the Philippines and beyond. Bituin, their pop sound rooted in that same artistic identity that’s defined every step of their career, extends the string of thoughtful, carefully crafted work that first catapulted the band from a local group of collaborators to one of the country’s most celebrated young musical acts. Over the course of their time making music together, Sugarcane has released more than a dozen singles, amassing millions of streams across all major platforms, a milestone that reflects their ability to turn specific, personal narrative into universal feeling that crosses regional and demographic lines.
