About this Song
Addict anchors itself to the thriving, multifaceted R&B circuit that has shaped Philippine popular music for decades, positioning the sound within a rich lineage of work that reinterprets core R&B frameworks through distinct regional cultural sensibilities that have long defined the country’s approach to the genre. Philippine R&B has never been a static copy of global mainstream iterations of the form; instead, creators across the archipelago have spent generations weaving local cultural priorities, lived experiences, and artistic traditions into the genre’s core, creating a body of work that feels both rooted in R&B’s global history and entirely unique to the specific context of the Philippines.
