About this Song
Tensionado anchors a pop work rooted in the vibrant creative ecosystem of the Philippines, a nation whose contributions to the global pop landscape carry a distinct identity all their own, shaped by the rich cultural currents that flow through the archipelago’s communities across every region. The genre of pop, as a broad classification that unites creators working toward a shared impulse of accessible, resonant artistic expression, leaves endless room for localized interpretation, and the Philippines’ community of pop creators has spent decades refining that interpretation, building a body of work that feels both connected to global pop’s throughline and entirely specific to the cultural context that spawned it.
