About this Song
Long before they entered the studio to record Wag Ka Sana Munang Umuwi, the members of SOAPDISH cut their teeth in the Philippines’ thriving OPM, or Original Pilipino Music, circuit, building a loyal grassroots following that would lay the groundwork for their transition from a small local act to a nationally recognized name. Their first two breakout hits, “TENSIONADO” and “PWEDE BA”, introduced the band’s one-of-a-kind sonic identity to a broad audience, a blend that balanced the broad appeal of mainstream pop with the gritty, unfiltered energy of rock, a combination that felt fresh and distinct in a local landscape often dominated by more polished, formulaic releases.
