About This Album
Jay R’s turn as a featured guest on sining anchors a pop album rooted in the creative ecosystem of the Philippines, where homegrown pop practices exist in constant dialogue with the broader currents of global pop, balancing the specific cultural perspectives that define local art with the accessibility that has made pop the world’s most widely consumed musical form. This album, like all works that emerge from the Philippines’ vibrant pop scene, carries with it the weight of a region that has spent decades refining its own take on the pop genre, weaving in cultural sensibilities that feel uniquely tied to the archipelago while never limiting itself to narrow ideas of what local pop can or should be.
