About this Song
The quiet weight that a simple, evocative title can hold, the kind that lingers in the mind long after the sound it introduces fades, is exactly the energy that wraps around Mercy, a pop work credited to Shawn Mendes, created out of the Philippines’ vibrant, endlessly interconnected community of pop creators that has spent decades refining and reimagining what popular music from the nation can be, balancing broad, accessible sonic sensibilities with the unique cultural perspective that only creators rooted in the Philippine archipelago can bring to every work they release.
