About this Song
Shanti Dope, the most influential rap star of his generation, upended the trajectory of homegrown Filipino music, igniting an explosive new chapter in Pinoy hip-hop that redefined what the genre could communicate and achieve for audiences across the archipelago. Rooted in the creative ecosystem of the Philippines, his work bridges the raw, unfiltered energy of street culture with the broad, accessible appeal of pop, the genre that frames his recording Summer Madness, allowing his sharp, incisive perspective to reach far beyond the core underground audiences that first embraced his early work.
