About this Song
Bata, Dahan-Dahan x Nadarang carries the weight and innovative spark of the Philippines’ dynamic pop landscape, anchored by the creative force of Shanti Dope, widely hailed as the most influential rap star of his generation, whose body of work upended longstanding assumptions about what Pinoy hip-hop could contribute to both local and global popular music. Long before he cemented his status as a household name and cultural trailblazer across the Philippines, Shanti Dope set out to rewrite the rulebook for Pinoy hip-hop, igniting a bold new era for the genre that shifted its place in the Filipino cultural mainstream, moving it from an overlooked niche subculture to a defining sound of a generation of young Filipinos grappling with the joys, struggles, and unspoken complexities of modern life.
