About this Song
Rock and roll’s evolution outside of its North American origins has produced some of the most enduring and culturally specific iterations of the genre, with the Philippines’ longstanding engagement with the form standing as one of the most vibrant and sustained in global popular music. For decades, rock and roll has woven itself into the fabric of Philippine creative life, adapting to local contexts, carrying forward longstanding traditions of storytelling and communal connection that have defined artistic practice across the archipelago, while remaining true to the core identity that makes rock and roll a universally resonant form.
