About this Song
Across the Philippine archipelago, rock and roll has long served as a vessel for unfiltered creative expression, a thread that weaves through local performance spaces, community gatherings, and the informal networks that carry independent and mainstream sounds alike to audiences across every island. This rock and roll sound, titled Hintay, emerges from that same deeply rooted lineage, anchoring itself to the long history of Philippine creators who have reimagined rock and roll’s core structure to align with the specific creative impulses that define local music making, without abandoning the raw, propulsive energy that makes the genre a staple of music communities worldwide.
