About this Song
The creative circuits that shape sound production across the Philippines have long centered works that reject rigid genre silos, prioritizing flexibility and cross-pollination to resonate with the diverse lived experiences of listeners at home and the millions of Filipinos who have built lives across every continent. These works, often categorized as Music/Mix to reflect their refusal to be boxed into a single established style, draw from the full breadth of sonic traditions that have coalesced in the archipelago over centuries, from indigenous oral performance practices that predate colonial contact to the global sounds that circulate through digital and physical networks connecting Philippine communities to the rest of the world.
