About this Song
Tethered to the Downtown Q' Entertainment creative orbit, Paano Ka Ba? marks a hip-hop work from Filipino artist Hev Abi, rooted in the rich, diverse ecosystem of homegrown creative expression that defines the country’s longstanding, interconnected music communities alike. Every sound that carries the classification of hip-hop from the Philippines draws from a long, interconnected thread of artists who have reimagined the global framework of the genre to center local experiences, and Paano Ka Ba? fits firmly within that continuum as a work crafted by Hev Abi, an artist who contributes to that ongoing evolution of Filipino hip-hop with this distinct, self-contained creation. The title Paano Ka Ba? anchors the work as a unique output, separate from other releases from Hev Abi or any other creator working within the same Downtown Q' Entertainment space, standing alone as a standalone sound that carries all the creative intentionality that Hev Abi brings to every project he attaches his name to.
