About this Song
Across the Philippines, contemporary R&B has grown from a niche underground movement centered on local club sets and independent community spaces into a core pillar of the country’s modern sonic identity, weaving the nuanced, emotion-driven cadences that define the global genre with layered, context-specific storytelling that roots every creation firmly in the lived experiences of Filipino audiences and creators. Within this evolving scene, the sound Lumisan emerges as a work that sits at the intersection of the genre’s core traditions and the experimental threads that have come to define Filipino R&B’s newest wave, offering a listening experience that engages both with the long line of R&B creators who have built space for the genre in the country and the emerging artists pushing its boundaries to reflect new perspectives.
