About this Song
The credited Filipino R&B artist approaches their practice with a deliberate grounding in the generations of creators that have shaped the country’s dynamic take on the genre, turning every work they release into an extension of a lineage that stretches across decades of regional creative output, with Gabi emerging as a seamless addition to the body of work they have cultivated to reflect both their connection to their home country and their engagement with the global evolution of R&B as a form that prioritizes emotional depth and sonic intentionality. For years, artists working out of the Philippines have reimagined what R&B can be, pulling from the long history of musical storytelling that has defined creative expression across the archipelago’s many islands, turning the genre into something that feels entirely their own, while still contributing to the global conversation that makes R&B such a far-reaching and enduring form of creative communication.
