About this Song
Rock & Roll, the genre that upended mid-20th century popular music and sent ripples of creative transformation across every continent it touched, has long been a vital part of the Philippines’ diverse musical ecosystem. For decades, creators in the country have engaged with rock & roll’s core ethos, bending its structural and cultural foundations to fit the unique creative currents that run through Philippine artistic life, turning a genre that first gained global mainstream attention in the United States into a form that feels entirely homegrown, capable of carrying the full range of human experience that audiences across the archipelago and beyond connect with.
