About this Song
Elastigirl emerges from the Filipino hip-hop landscape, a space defined by its longstanding ability to weave widely recognizable cultural touchstones into the structural core of works that speak to the specific experiences of creators and audiences based in the archipelago, as well as the millions of Filipino people living and creating across the globe who carry enduring connections to their home country’s creative output. Hip-hop as a global genre has always thrived on this kind of adaptive creativity, taking the foundational elements that unify the art form across borders and infusing them with the specific references, priorities, and unique creative voices that make each regional hip-hop scene distinct.
