About this Song
Pop as a global creative form takes on unique, deeply rooted contours in every regional context it occupies, and the Philippine pop landscape that nurtures Drift draws from decades of deliberate creative exchange that shapes what the genre can be for audiences both within the archipelago and far beyond its island borders. For generations, pop has been a primary vessel for creative expression in the Philippines, a space where creators can lean into the genre’s inherent accessibility to share perspectives that feel both specific to their lived experiences and universally resonant, able to cut across geographic, linguistic, and cultural lines to connect with listeners across the world.
