Regine Velasquez, a Filipino singer, actress, record producer, and television host, is widely recognized for her extensive vocal range and belting technique, earning her titles such as "Asia's Songbird" and "The Queen of Pop" in the Philippines. Her career began after winning the television talent show *Ang Bagong Kampeon* in 1984 and the Asia Pacific Singing Contest in 1989. Born Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez in Tondo, Manila, on April 22, 1970, her early vocal training included unique methods like her father immersing her neck-deep in the sea to strengthen her core and develop lung capacity. Velasquez initially released the single "Love Me Again" in 1986 under the name Chona, though it did not achieve commercial success. She later adopted the stage name Regine Velasquez for her 1987 debut studio album, *Regine*, released through Viva Records.
