About This Album
Curated as part of an archival re-issue initiative designed to lift up and preserve undercirculated folk recordings from across the Philippines, this album carries the formal title Re-Issue Series: Ako at Si Celeste, anchoring its place in a line of releases dedicated to centering work that is rooted in the folk traditions that shape cultural expression across the archipelago. Unlike one-off re-releases that often target recordings with existing mainstream notoriety, this series is built to prioritize folk works that hold deep communal meaning, even if their reach has been limited to local or regional audiences in the years since their original recording.
