About this Song
The Philippines’ vibrant, interconnected musical ecosystem has fostered generations of creative work that reworks global genre traditions into distinctly local expressions, and R&B stands as one of the genre forms that has found the most sustained, meaningful traction within the archipelago’s creative communities. As a sound rooted in the dynamic lineage of Philippine R&B, Gold carries forward the long history of creators in the country engaging with R&B’s flexible, expressive framework to craft work that fits within the broader landscape of the genre while drawing on the unique creative inheritances that define musical creation across the Philippines’ many islands.
