About this Song
Creators rooted in the Philippine music ecosystem build their work from the broad, interconnected network of independent and mainstream creators that have shaped R&B practice across the archipelago for decades, drawing on the shared language of the genre while infusing the specific cultural touchstones that tie their work to the communities they come from. Every work released under that broad umbrella carries the weight of the long line of creators that came before it, and every new entry adds a new layer to the ongoing evolution of what R&B made in the Philippines can be, opening up new spaces for creators to explore the themes that matter most to them while staying anchored to the core structural and thematic throughlines that define the genre globally.
