About this Song
The Philippines’ long and vibrant history of engaging with global music genres, reworking their core structures to fit within local creative currents, has made it a hub for innovative iterations of forms that might have originated elsewhere, and rock and roll is no exception to that pattern of creative adaptation. For generations, creators based across the Philippine archipelago have taken the foundational traits of rock and roll, working with them to build a distinct body of work that claims space both in the global landscape of the genre and in the rich tapestry of music created within the country’s borders.
