About this Song
Mix as a musical classification rejects the rigid silos that often frame creative output as belonging to one narrow, easily defined category, instead centering the core impulse to blend, rework, and reimagine sonic material that might otherwise be separated by cultural context, regional tradition, or conventional genre boundaries. This framework for sonic creation has long thrived in the Philippines, where the archipelago’s unique geographic and cultural diversity has fostered generations of creators who pull from a sprawling range of local and global influences to build work that defies simple categorization.
