About this Song
Pop, as a globally resonant form that adapts to the specific cultural cadences of every region it touches, finds vivid expression in Mo, a sound rooted in the Philippines’ thriving, interconnected community of creative practitioners working across and beyond the archipelago’s more than 7,000 islands. Pop from the Philippines draws its strength from the way it weaves together the core accessibility that defines the global pop genre with the layered cultural histories that shape creative expression across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, creating a body of work that feels both familiar to international audiences and deeply specific to the experiences of the people who call the Philippines home, and the millions of Filipino diaspora members who span every continent on Earth.
