About this Song
Kasayaw emerges as a pop creation from the Philippines, rooted in the archipelago’s long and vibrant history of making popular music that speaks both to the intimate, shared experiences of communities across its thousands of islands and to the universal threads that tie pop audiences to creative works wherever they originate. Pop as a genre has long served as a flexible canvas for artists from every corner of the globe, and for creators in the Philippines, that canvas has been shaped by generations of cultural exchange, internal artistic evolution, and a commitment to centering voices that might otherwise be overlooked in mainstream global pop spaces.
