The remix was created by Passion Pit, a musical project that began in college when Michael Angelakos aimed to create dance music for his friends. The first iteration of Passion Pit formed in 2007, featuring Ian Hultquist, Ayad Al Adhamy, Jeff Apruzzese, and Nate Donmoyer. Passion Pit's debut EP, *Chunk of Change*, was self-released in 2008, and its single "Sleepyhead" became a 2x Platinum track. The project's second album, *Manners*, followed in 2009. Passion Pit's 2012 album, *Gossamer*, reached number four on the US Billboard charts, with its lead single "Take a Walk" also achieving 2x Platinum certification. *Kindred* peaked at number two on the US Alternative Chart. In 2017, Angelakos independently released *Tremendous Sea of Love* to support scientific research. Angelakos has also been a vocal advocate for mental health awareness, openly discussing his experiences with bipolar disorder.
