A pop recording from the Philippines, "Wag Ka Na" is by Parokya Ni Edgar. The band formed in Ateneo High School in Manila, originally performing parodies of well-known songs under the name Comic Relief. After signing with Universal, the group released its 1996 debut, *KHANGKHUNGKHERRNitZ The Album*, which went platinum in six months. The success of the song "Buloy" from that album would later haunt the band, as its troubled protagonist, a real-life friend, died by suicide just as the lyrics described after the track's release. A year later, Parokya Ni Edgar's second full-length, *BURUGUDUYSTUNSTUGUDUNSTUY*, ventured into more serious material while retaining comedic moments. The song "Please Don't Touch My Birdie" became another controversial hit due to its sexual double meaning. In 1999, the band's "Harana" video was selected as the Asian Viewers' Choice at the MTV awards in New York City.
