"Smile" is a Pop recording from the Philippines. The credited artist, Parokya Ni Edgar, is a band known for its witty pop-punk songs and often unusual subject matter. Formed in Ateneo High School in Manila, Philippines, the group initially consisted of vocalist Chito Miranda, back-up singer and dancer Vinci Montaner, guitarists Darius Semana and Gab CheeKee, bassist Buwi Meneses, and drummer Dindin Moreno. Originally known as Comic Relief, the band specialized in performing parodies of well-known songs. Their journey began in 1994, performing at Club Dredd, a prominent venue for alternative music in Manila. Their distinctive oddball outfits and goofy stage antics quickly made them local favorites. The band's rise led to a signing with Universal, facilitated by Richard Tan, manager of Philippine punk groups The Youth and Teeth. The Youth's Robert Javier produced Parokya Ni Edgar's 1996 debut, *KHANGKHUNGKHERRNitZ The Album*.
