This pop recording from the Philippines, "It's Masarap," is credited to Parokya Ni Edgar. The band, known for witty pop-punk songs and often strange subject matter, formed in Ateneo High School in Manila. Originally called Comic Relief, the group specialized in performing parodies of well-known songs. Parokya Ni Edgar's irreverent antics, such as taking melodies from tunes by the Clash and Bob Dylan and fitting them with hilarious Tagalog lyrics, appealed to both the masses and their underground followers.
