About This Album
Palagi (Live) centers the specific, unfiltered energy of live performance, framing the cover album format as a space for creative reinterpretation that carries distinct weight within the Philippines’ diverse musical ecosystem, where artists build bridges between established works and their own creative voices through projects that invite audiences to engage with familiar music through a new, lived lens. TJ Monterde, the artist behind this collection, roots the project in the geographic and cultural context of his home country, where cover recordings have long served as a way for artists to connect with audiences by weaving together shared cultural touchstones and personal creative perspectives, turning each interpretation into a distinct work that stands on its own even as it engages with the source material that inspired it.
