About this Song
R&B, as a global creative force that has traveled far from its mid-20th century origins in Black American communities to be reimagined by creators across every continent, finds a longstanding and deeply vibrant home in the Philippines, where local artists and audiences have embraced the genre’s core expressive power to craft iterations that carry their own distinct cultural weight, positioning Philippine R&B as one of the most dynamic regional offshoots of the form in Southeast Asia. Simulan Mo Sa Isang Pangarap - Minus One emerges from that rich, decades-long lineage of Filipino engagement with R&B, tapping into both the genre’s universal soulful core and a uniquely Filipino musical format that has shaped how communities across the archipelago create, share, and experience music for generations.
