Formed in 1999 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro alongside drummer Ace Del Mundo and his brother JM del Mundo on bass, the Filipino band that would shape generations of local pop and rock sounds built their creative identity from a foundation of cross-generational influences that spanned global and local trailblazers alike. Their sound wove together alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental music, drawing clear inspiration from iconic acts including The Smiths, The Beatles, and beloved Filipino group Eraserheads, a framework that informed every release they put out across their decades-long career, leading up to and including the pop recording You Bring Out My Best. Mcoy Fundales joined the group shortly after its formation as a second vocalist, a role he held through the band’s initial run, which concluded in 2007 after nearly a decade of building a discography that earned both massive mainstream success and widespread critical acclaim.
