Rooted in the Philippines’ dynamic pop ecosystem, Orange & Lemons grew from a late 1990s formation to become one of the country’s most enduring indie-alternative acts, their work weaving together core influences that span generations of global and local rock and pop to shape a sound that resonated deeply with local audiences across their decades-long career. Formed in 1999 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro, alongside drummer Ace Del Mundo and his brother JM del Mundo on bass, the band initially counted former member Mcoy Fundales as their second vocalist, a role he held from the group’s founding through its initial 2007 dissolution. That split stemmed from unresolvable musical differences, closing a chapter that saw the band release three studio albums, earn major local accolades, and build a loyal fanbase that would carry demand for their work through a 10-year hiatus.
