Long anchored in the rich alternative and indie pop legacy of the Philippines’ local music scene, the body of work that includes The Nerve carries the weight of a band that has shaped and redefined its sound across more than two decades of creative evolution. The group behind the recording first came together in 1999, founded by singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro, alongside drummer Ace Del Mundo and his brother JM del Mundo on bass, building a creative core that would shift and expand over the years to accommodate new creative visions and members. For the first eight years of the band’s run, former member Mcoy Fundales served as a second vocalist, contributing to every project the group released before the band’s first formal hiatus in 2007.
