The pop recording "Pinoy Ako" from the Philippines is performed by Orange & Lemons, an indie pop and alternative rock band. Formed in 1999, the group's sound draws from alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental music, with influences including The Smiths, The Beatles, and the Eraserheads. The band achieved commercial success with their 2005 album *Strike Whilst the Iron Is Hot*, which reached double platinum status, and their 2007 album *Moonlane Gardens* was named Album of the Year at the NU Rock Awards. After a hiatus, Orange & Lemons reformed in 2017 and released a 15th-anniversary edition of their debut album in 2018. The band later added a live keyboardist, Jared Nerona, who contributed arrangements to their 2022 Tagalog album *La Bulaqueña*.
