This single marked their reformation as a trio after a ten-year hiatus. The group formed in 1999 with Clem Castro, Ace Del Mundo, and JM del Mundo. Mcoy Fundales was a former member. The band's musical style blends alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental music. The Smiths, The Beatles, and the Eraserheads influenced their sound. Orange & Lemons released three albums before their 2007 split. Their 2005 album, *Strike Whilst the Iron Is Hot*, achieved double platinum status. *Moonlane Gardens* was named Album of the Year at the 2007 NU Rock Awards. In 2018, the band released an updated version of their debut album, *Love in the Land of Rubber Shoes & Dirty Ice Cream (15th Anniversary Edition)*. Jared Nerona joined the band as a live keyboardist in December 2018. He contributed arrangements to their April 2022 Tagalog album, *La Bulaqueña*.
