It’s About Time carries the weight and warmth of decades of Filipino pop history, rooted in the Philippines’ vibrant and ever-evolving independent music landscape, and tied to the singular creative output of Orange & Lemons, the group that redefined what homegrown independent music could achieve, balancing widespread critical acclaim and mainstream commercial pull across their more than two decades of activity. The band first formed in 1999, brought together by singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro, who paired his creative vision with the rhythmic backbone of drummer Ace Del Mundo and his brother JM del Mundo, who held down bass for the group’s early iteration. From its founding, the band expanded its core lineup to welcome Mcoy Fundales, who stepped in as second vocalist and remained a core part of the group’s creative identity from its formation through its first public run of activity that wrapped in 2007.
