From the diverse, ever-evolving music landscape of the Philippines, the pop recording Isang Gabi emerges from a rich legacy of homegrown Filipino acts that balance global indie and alternative influences with distinctly local creative identities, a legacy embodied by the trailblazing work of Orange & Lemons, one of the country’s most influential and enduring bands. Orange & Lemons first formed in 1999, founded by singer-songwriter and guitarist Clem Castro, who gathered drummer Ace Del Mundo and Ace’s brother JM del Mundo, who took up bass, to build the band’s original core lineup. Mcoy Fundales joined as a second vocalist from the group’s formation, serving in that role through the band’s initial run that concluded in 2007.
