This song is part of a body of work by an artist whose musical approach blends alternative rock, indie pop, and experimental music, drawing influence from bands like The Smiths, The Beatles, and the Eraserheads. The artist formed in 1999 with a singer-songwriter/guitarist, a drummer, and a bassist, later adding a second vocalist until 2007. After a hiatus beginning in 2007 due to musical differences, the group reformed as a trio in July 2017 and released new material, including a 2018 updated version of their debut album to mark its 15th anniversary. A live keyboardist joined the band in December 2018, contributing arrangements to a Tagalog album released in April 2022.
